Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has asked President Muhammadu to amend a section of Nigeria’s Constitution by separating office of Accountant-General of the Federation from that of Accountant-General of the Federal Government.
According to the Governor, the two offices do not guarantee checks and balances, let alone paving way for transparency and accountability to grow the nation’s economy.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri who aligned with the President that monies meant for the public at community levels are often diverted by a few, placed in control of the resources
Addressing a marmoth crowd of PDP supporters at a campaign rally in Jada LGA of Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri posited that rather than accusing Governors of the financial anormaly, the President should rather put a search light over the operations of the office of the Accountant general of the Federation and that of the Accountant general of the federal government.
He argued that if the Country is serious about fighting corruption, the President must ensure separation of the two offices so as to checkmate financial illegal dealings taking place between the two offices.
He added that state governors are partners in progress with the federal government in efforts to emancipate the country from the grip of underdevelopment.
Jada local government area is the home town of the PDP Presidential Candidate and former vice President Atiku Abubakar whom many believe is the answer to the development question of Nigeria.
