Local Government Council Chairmen in Cross River State have been charged to implement programmes that will have positive impacts on the people, specifically in the rural communities.
Governor Ben Ayade gave this charge in Calabar Shortly after he met with the eighteen Local Government Chairmen in the state, as part of the new year policy directive on Governance.
Ayade who was represented by the Secretary to the Cross River State Government,Tina Agbor said ,there is a need for them to improve on their performance indices.

Commissioner for Local Government, Stella Odey who said the purpose of the meeting was to conduct peer review among the council bosses.
The Chairman of the Forum of Chairmen in Cross River State Emmanuel Offiong Bassey, said there will be qaurterly appraisal moving forward.
Governor Ayade had met with the Chairmen as part of efforts to change the style of governance at the grassroots level.
