Low turnout of students and pupils marked the resumption of schools in Katsina State on Monday.
Part of the reasons given by some of the schools’ management include the severe harmattan weather and parents not allowing their children come to school, as well as the usual laissez faire attitude to the first week of resumption from breaks.
Many public and private schools visited were seen adhering strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.

They also complied with the security arrangements, as directed by the state government.
Some school administrators, however, called on the government to intensify efforts to ensure a sound and uninterrupted academic calendar.
