Low turnout of electorates has marked the just concluded Oyo State Local Government and Councilorship elections held across the state.
In Ibadan, the state capital, the voters did not turn up at the polling centers as expected.
Our correspondent reports that in the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State in southwest Nigeria, where the people were expected to vote for their Local Government Chairmen and Councilors, the reverse was the case as many of the electorates did not turn up.
Many of the polling units, however, witnessed the late arrival of election materials, but the voting process was peaceful.

It was also noted that Covid-19 protocols were ignored.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has applauded Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission for a job well done.
There were 17 political parties participating in the election, excluding the All Progressives Congress.
