The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has called on manufacturers to integrate Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies into their operations to improve productivity, reduce production costs and strengthen Nigeria’s industrial capacity.
The call was made at the 2026 Manufacturers Energy Security and Energy Efficiency Summit in Lagos, where industry leaders and government representatives examined innovative energy solutions, smart manufacturing and structured financing as critical drivers of industrial growth.
MAN’s Director-General, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, said technological advancement had become imperative for manufacturers to remain competitive in an increasingly digital global economy.
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly transforming global manufacturing, improving efficiency, productivity and industrial output. MAN’s Director-General, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, says adopting AI will help manufacturers cut costs, improve product quality and remain competitive.
Keynote speaker Ulf Brackmann says AI can boost productivity and create new employment opportunities rather than displace workers.
The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology highlighted plans to promote local technology, smart manufacturing and green financing, while the NUPRC stressed the need for a sustainable supply of oil and gas to support industries.
Manufacturers are urged to embrace AI, invest in modern technologies and adopt efficient energy solutions to drive productivity and industrial growth.
