Masked Gunmen Attack Oyo State Government Secretariat

Some men in military camouflage fully armed with rifles believed to be agitators of Yoruba nation in the early hours of Saturday invaded the Oyo state government Secretariat Agodi Ibadan.

The gunmen fully armed with pump action rifles masked up their faces and were repelled by the joint security operatives who were mobilised to the scene.

Reports have it that the agitators had hoisted their flag at the house of assembly complex while also trying to do same at the governor’s office before they were eventually overpowered and captured

All roads leading to the secretariat were immediately cordoned off to avoid the suspects from escaping.

Security men were also seen combing all nearby bushes and drainages to fish out some of them who escaped from the scene while patrol vehicles were moving around for any suspicious activity

Speaking with journalist after normalcy had returned to the seat of power, the special adviser on security to the governor CP Fatal Owoseni retired revealed that 20 suspects believed to be Yoruba nation agitators have been arrested while 2 of them sustained gunshots when they engaged security forces in a gun duel.

Owoseni assured that no stone will be left unturned to get to the root of the matter.
