The National president of the Nigeria union of journalists, Christ Isiguzo has called on the National broadcasting commission NBC to exercise restraint over the revocation of broadcasting licences of some media organisations in the country.
Christ Isiguzo in a press release on Friday disclosed that despite the inability of the media organisations to pay their renewal licences on time, this decision is reckless and ill timed because of insecurity in the country.
He further stated that the NBC needs to consider the dwindling economic fortunes of the several media organisations who can hardly get by because of the situation in the country.
According to him, the NBC needed to have carried out more consultations and dialogue before taking such drastic actions.
