Nigeria’s House of Representatives on Thursday considered and passed for second reading a bill seeking to establish a regulatory authority to control the profession and practice of broadcasting in the country.
The bill aside from proposing penalties for unprofessional conducts by practitioners in the broadcasting sector also sets ethical standards for broadcasters and broadcast Journalist.

The proposed law gives credence to the Establishment of the Broadcasting Practitioners Council.
The bill if passed will be funded through voluntary donations or grants from any individual , institution or the Government.
