The broadcasting organization of Nigeria BON has frowned at the recent directive by the media regulatory body, the National broadcasting commission, NBC, asking media organizations to downplay the activities of bandits and insurgents in programming and News.
The Chairman of the media body, Sa’a Ibrahim, while briefing newsmen in Abuja at the end of the organization’s Central working committee meeting on Wednesday, stressed the need for dialogue before such directive is issued.

The broadcast body also raised concerns on the high rate of licensing fees on media organizations by the regulator and called for the immediate review of the fees to reflect the present day economic challenges.
On digitization, BON called on the NBC to bring together all the critical stakeholders in the industry to review the process.
