Medical doctors based in Port Harcourt have called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency over the high cost of drugs, and encouraged local manufacturers to save lives.
The Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, Aniele Promise, made this known to Health Correspondents in Port Harcourt.

He attributed the high cost of medicines to the removal of fuel subsidies and the high exchange rate of the dollar against the Naira.
