Former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party , Olisa Metuh alongside the “Beyond the Wall” Initiative of the Legend Golden foundation led by his wife, Kanayo have promised to build vocational centres for inmates in the correctional facilities in Kuje and Nnewi.
The former PDP scribe said this during his charity visit to the Kuje facility to celebrate his fifty sixth birthday where he also called for private sector support in improving the country’s penal system.

This is the first time Olisa Metuh is visiting the Kuje correctional facility since the appellate court set aside his conviction, which it said was tainted with bias.
He is greeted with cheers as excited inmates whom he spent 10 months with, welcome him.
Having personally identified with the challenges with Nigeria’s penal system, Metuh and his wife are championing a not-for-profit initiative to improve the plight of those behind bars.
While he promised to build vocational centres for inmates, Metuh said the “beyond the Wall” initiative is ready to assist any inmate who may not have the strength to get justice.
1,100 packs of food, drinks and bread were given to the inmates.
The visit follows a similar one to the Suleja correctional centre last Wednesday where a load of provisions was also provided for the inmates.
He appealed for deliberate actions to fast track the judicial process and speed up cases of awaiting trial inmates.
