Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Gorge Akume, says Local Governments need to be given full autonomy to enable them address the rising insecurity and poverty at the grassroots.
Akume said this during the Opening of a three-day national conference of the Association of Chairmen Of Local Government Service Commissions In Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja.
Akume says he supports the full implementation of the Executive Order in Nigeria for effective and efficient local government administration.
The Association of Chairmen Of Local Government Service Commissions In Nigeria is the Umbrella body of chairmen of Local Government Service Commissions across the country including the Federal Capital Territory.
