Mixed reactions as Wike plans another lockdown of Rivers state

Mixed reactions have trailed Governor Nyesom Wike’s planned lockdown of the state in the new year to stem the tide of the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Some describe the expected lockdown as a welcome development while others say the impact of the virus in the state is being blown out of proportion by the government.

The Covid 19 pandemic is still ravaging the entire globe one year after its emergence, in what has been described by health experts as a second wave that is even deadlier.

In ensuring that his people are not caught in the web of the virus,Governor Wike had threatened another lockdown if residents do not adhere strictly to safety protocols,a threat that has been greeted with different reactions.

For Leesi Nwikop, she doubts the veracity of the virus because of the way resident are going about their business and the governor’s pronouncements.

Residents urged government to sanction defaulters of the Covid 19 protocol instead of placing another lockdown.

The impact of the second wave of the pandemic is said to be more disastrous,hence the need for all hands to be on deck to stay healthy
