Mohbad:

Coroner inquest into the death of musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba also called Mohbad is scheduled to begin on Friday, September twenty nine at the Magistrate court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Disclosed via a letter by the coroner, Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi, addressed to Falana and Falana chambers, preliminary enquiries into the death of the singer will begin on Friday.

The law firm of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana had on Monday, the eighteenth of September, written to the Chief Coroner of Lagos, Justice Mojisola Dada to request for an inquest into the cause of death of Mohbad who died under controversial circumstances on the twelfth of September, 2023.

The request was made in line with section 15 of the Lagos state coroner’s law 2007, which provides that an inquest shall hold whenever a coroner is informed that the death of a deceased person within his coroner district is as a result of a death in a violent, unnatural or suspicious situation.

Replying to the letter by Falana and Falana chambers, the coroner said she has the directives of the Chief Coroner of Lagos state, Mojisola Dada to convoke an inquest following Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner’s system law of Lagos state, Cap C15, Laws of Lagos state 2015.
