The hearing of the bail application of Tigran Gambaryan, the second defendant in the ongoing arraignment of Binance Holdings Limited and its top officials at the Federal High Court Abuja was stalled on Thursday.
This was at the insistence of the prosecutor, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to reply to the defendant’s response to their preliminary objection to the bail application.
Counsel for the EFCC told the Court that in the defendant’s response to their objection to his bail, the defendant raised new facts, which they would have to reply to.
The defendant’s counsel questioned the prosecution’s right to reply under the law.
Justice Emeka Nwite after taking arguments from both parties adjourned to 22nd May, 2024 for definite hearing of the bail application.
