The internal crisis rocking the Labour Party may have gone from bad to worse after its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi joined the coalition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Some party members in Julius Abure’s faction are calling for the expulsion of the former governor of Anambra state from the party, others in the camp of Nenadi Usman say Peter Obi remains their party leader.
According to Nenadi Usman’s camp, those threatening to expel Peter Obi are noise makers and advised Nigerians to ignore them.

The Abure led faction had given Peter Obi 48 hours to resign after he was seen in the new political coalition recently inaugurated in Abuja.
The opposing members say they will convene a national executive council meeting to formally expel him.
