The Bishops’ Council of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, (LCCN), has berated the APC for flying a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, saying it is irresponsible of the party to take its political survival over the stability and peace of Nigeria, and the wellbeing of the citizenry.
In a position paper read by the Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria and President Lutheran World Federation, Most Reverend Musa Filibus, the Council described the Muslim-Muslim ticket as a highly sensitive issue, and that politicians must be careful not to plunge the nation into a religious war.
The Bishops also want the Federal Government to rise to its responsibility of arresting and prosecuting those terrorizing innocent Nigerians, rather than playing the ostrich on matters of insecurity.
