Naira Scarcity: Residents in Gombe state call for more defined monetary policy implementation

Nigerians in Gombe state are calling on the federal government and the Central Bank of Nigeria to redefine the monetary policy of the country to ensure a continuous flow of the currency to the common man.

Though they commend the current policies, they, however, want the government to understand the hardship faced by Nigerians and be flexible in the execution of such monetary policies.

Their comments are coming as most banks opened their doors this weekend to customers to ensure the availability of the Naira to Nigerians.

Today is a lucky day for Linus Agwanda as he waits patiently in a relatively small queue for the currency to attend to his daily movement and business.

Linus, like most Nigerians, had a torrid time waiting for months for these currency notes.

But with the government’s provision of old currency notes after the supreme court judgment and the opening of banks in the metropolis they believe the new approach will grant the people access to their own currency in record time
