The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Kola Abiola says, the scarcity of the new Naira notes is a concealed idea aimed at encouraging vote buying in the forthcoming General Election.
The Presidential Hopeful while addressing journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, said the current situation will hurt the outcome of the election.
Abiola said the introduction of the redesigned currency is an ill-conceived idea that came at the wrong time with poor implementation.
He accused the two leading political parties of mopping up the little available cash in circulation for their purposes.
The presidential candidate said the Naira scarcity will further heighten the insecurity in the country and encourage vote buying.
