Presidential Steering Committee on FG/Health workers agreement is currently meeting with the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA in a swift move to persuade the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD to suspend its ongoing strike.
This meeting is coming hours to the September 15, adjourned date in the case brought by the Federal Government against the National Association Of Resident Doctors before the National Industrial Court, NIC Abuja.
The meeting which was scheduled for 2pm started few minutes ago.
Ait.live gathered that the delay may be tactical as the Presidential steering Committee is also expecting the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, who have been lock on in a meeting at the Ministry of Health to join the party.

NARD which has been on strike for seven weeks running is an affiliate of NMA, has no official of the body present, or has sent any message to this scheduled meeting, an indication which may spell doom for the outcome of the meeting.
While the wait continues whether this meeting will hold or not, no information if JOHESU will shelve its planned strike scheduled to begin on Friday September 17.
Meanwhile, JOHESU has written to the Minister of Labour asking him to call the NMA to order over comments discrediting its demands as contained in a 15-day strike notice issued to the Federal Government.
