Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has promised to construct a brand-new Olympic-size stadium in Lafia before the end of his tenure on May 29, 2027.

The Governor made the pledge during the grand finale of the 2025 Governor’s Cup at the Lafia City Stadium.

Governor Sule explained that while plans are underway to upgrade the existing facility, his administration is now considering building a completely new stadium from scratch.

Governor Sule noted that the proposed stadium will host major national and international competitions, attract investment, and help nurture young talents across the state.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, expressed commitment to transforming the country’s football landscape through grassroots development by fishing out raw talents

Karu LG team defeated their Wamba opponents 3-nil in the final of the tournament to lift the trophy and claim N5 million prize money, while Wamba LGt received N3 million as runners-up.

The event was attended by top football administrators, political leaders, and key players in sports from across Nigeria.
