The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information Culture and Tourism, Yakubu Lawal has regained freedom after five days in the hands of kidnappers.
The commissioner was kidnapped by unknown gunmen last Monday at about 9:45 pm in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the release of the commissioner in a telephone interview with AIT in Lafia.
Nansel says the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Yakubu Lawal was released this friday evening due to sustained efforts of the combined security agencies deployed to rescue him unhurt.

The Commissioner has been taken to the hospital for medical examination after which he will be reunited with his family
The Police spokesperson, however, noted that security surveillance had been intensified in Nasarawa Eggon LGA, following increased insecurity in the area.
