Nasarawa State Police, rescues 17-year-old girl kidnapped in Akwanga, arrest 2 suspects

Two suspected kidnappers, Musa Adamu, and Abdullahi Ishaku who abducted a 17-year-old girl, Blessing Jonathan Bala have been arrested.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel disclosed this to newsmen in Lafia.

Nansel explained that the suspected kidnappers who were fully armed, stormed Blessing’s residence in Akwanga Local Government Area and whisked her away to a hideout within the area, but was later rescued by officers of the Police Command.

The police added that on September 7 at about 01:45am, some unknown gunmen invaded a house behind Kini Country hotel in Akwanga Local Government Area and abducted a girl.

He added that in the process, while they were trying to take her away, they shot her elder brother who was trying to help the victim.

The Nasarawa Police Spokesman further added that upon receipt of the information, police operatives attached to Akwanga Area Command went after the criminal elements and were able to arrest eight suspects out of which two of them have confessed to the crime.

The victim was also rescued and her elder brother is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Nansel said that the Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi has directed that the suspects be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
