Nasarawa State set to conduct 2021 LGA polls on October 6

The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC, has fixed the 6th of October, 2021 for both the chairmanship and the councillorship elections in the state.

Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Ayuba Usman, disclosed this during a media briefing in Lafia, the state capital.

Usman explained that it was very necessary to conduct local government polls since the tenure of the chairman and councillors had expired on May 28, 2021.

He said that the Commission is set to carry out her responsibility in the conduct of the LGA elections in the 13 local government councils and 147 electoral wards across the state.

The state electoral body has therefore earmarked more than N669 million for the conduct of the local council’s polls in the state.
