An unspecified number is students of the Nasarawa State University Keffi have been reportedly killed during a stampede for food.
The state governor, Abdullahi Sule was said to have made provision for the food palliative which led to the struggle.
AIT is yet to confirm the actually number of students who have died and those receiving medical care as a result of the stampede.
The situation has created an uneasy calm among students on and off campus.
The palliatives were brought in on March 21 and brought into the convocation ground for distribution scheduled for this Friday.
The state government had the intention to ease the hardship on students, following the recent high cost of living.
The university authority is yet to release any official statement, neither has the state government reacted to the incident.
