The Chief of Naval Staff, CNS, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has tasked the Nigerian Navy with strengthening its logistics system through improved planning, technology, accountability and efficient resource management. This, he said, will enhance operational readiness.
Abbas gave the charge while declaring open the Nigerian Navy Logistics Seminar 2026 in Kano.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, said the increasing complexity of naval operations had placed greater pressure on systems responsible for sustaining platforms, personnel and facilities.
Vice Admiral Idi Abbas said logistics must ensure that the right resources are available in the right condition, at the right place and at the right time to achieve operational objectives.
Abbas urged participants to move beyond identifying longstanding challenges and develop practical and measurable recommendations for improving resource planning, procurement, inventory management, accountability and service delivery.
The Chief of Naval Staff also commissioned a 120-bed Male Under-Training Ratings Accommodation and a 64-bed Female Under-Training Ratings Accommodation at the College.
