The Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, has selected a Nigerian, Mfon Udofia, who is an assistant coach with the NBA G League, Park Sky Hawks Club, to lead D’Tigers to their last leg of the Fiba Afrobasket qualifiers from February 19 to 21.
Udofia, who was part of D’tigers technical crew to the Fiba World Cup in China in 2019, steps in for coach Mike Brown an American, who is currently committed to lead the golden state warriors in the NBA.
The former point guard’s appointment was also greatly influenced by the absence of assistant coach Alex Nwora.

NBBF President, Musa Kida confirmed the appointment to ait. Live said that “At 31 years -old, the 6.2 ft tall former point guard will become the youngest ever coach to handle D’Tigers.”
