NCS Commits To Fighting Smuggling To Reduce Loss Of Revenue

The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, says it will continue to tighten loose ends in order to mitigate smuggling of goods and reduce loss of revenue.

The deputy comptroller of customs and the national public relations officer of the Nigeria customs service, Abdullahi Maiwada stated this during the 2026 public relations conference: Zone “C” media parley in Port Harcourt.

The Nigeria customs service media parley in port harcourt is part of activities to celebrate the 2026 public relations conference with focus on “realigning corporate communication as a strategic driver of institutional effectiveness and public trust.

The Deputy Comptroller of Customs and the National Public Relations officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Maiwada while reaffirming the agency continued partnership with the media, says the Nigeria Customs will continue to initiate policies that would help address smuggling of goods and loss of revenue.

He said the granting of waivers by the federal government on certain items is to help promote industrialization, economic growth and employment generation.
