The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has inaugurated an Artificial Intelligence-enabled Surveillance Command and Control Centre at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

The facility is among several projects commissioned to strengthen security, training, and welfare at the academy.

The new AI-enabled Surveillance Command and Control Centre is designed to enhance situational awareness and strengthen the Nigerian Defence Academy’s capacity to monitor and respond to emerging security threats.

The facility forms part of ongoing efforts to make the academy more secure, technologically driven, and responsive to the changing demands of contemporary military training and education.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, stressed the growing importance of technology in modern security management.

He said the changing security environment requires faster information processing, improved surveillance, and prompt response to emerging threats.

The Chief of Defence Staff also commissioned the remodelled RSM Oliver Nzalgana Parade Ground, the 500-capacity Ashanti Battalion Cadets’ Mess and the renovated Ribadu Auditorium.

The projects are expected to further enhance training, ceremonial activities, accommodation, and welfare for cadets and personnel of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
