Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC says the 1.2-kilometre Kaa-Ataba Bridge In Rivers State, South-South Nigeria will be completed for commissioning by November this year.
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who made this known insists that the project was pursued to improve the social economic wellbeing of the affected communities.
Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh has commended the Commission for deploying the needed resources for the completion of the bridge and road project.
The Minister gave the commendation while on an inspection tour of the bridge and road projects that link over 10 communities in Andoni local government area and Khana local government area of Rivers State.
The bridge and road projects were abandoned for about 15 years ago, until the current Board and Management of the NDDC, reviewed and rewarded contracts for their completion, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directives to complete all stalled and abandoned projects.
On ground to inspect the level of work done, along with Minister Momoh, were the NDDC Managing Director and other Executive Directors of the Commission.
The second bridge of 250 meters long, will commence once the 1.2-kilometre bridge is completed.
