The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested 363 suspects in Kwara State, North-Central Nigeria recovering 495.166 kilogrammes of narcotic and psychotropic substances including 61.500 litres of skuchies and other dangerous substances

State Commander, Mohammed Ibrahim made this known during a media conference in Ilorin ahead of the 2024 United Nations Day against Drug Abuse. He also noted that his Command has so far secured 75 convictions with 35 other cases still pending before the Federal High Court, Ilorin.

Ibrahim also spoke on the Command’s collaboration with the State Government in a Train the Trainer programme for school teachers across the state and higher institutions to ensure a sustainable Drug Use Policy.

The Commander noted that one of the major challenges faced by the Command currently remains the lack of operational vehicles to cover all the eight-area commands, 16 outposts and two border posts.
