Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd) has said that the Agency will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those responsible for the violent attack on two NDLEA officers in Abuja are arrested and brought to justice.
Marwa stated this during a visit to the injured officers at the National Hospital, Abuja.
According to NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, the officers, Ayegh Dooyun Zachariah and Shehu Jamil Ibrahim, sustained severe injuries after they were attacked by a violent mob during a raid on a notorious drug joint in the Dawaki area of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday, May 15, 2026.
During the visit, Marwa sympathised with the officers and assured them of the full support of the Agency, promising that the NDLEA would take complete responsibility for their welfare and medical treatment until they fully recover and return to duty.

He commended the officers for their courage, commitment, and professionalism during the high-risk operation, noting that their sacrifices remain critical to the fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria.
To further encourage and recognise their bravery, the NDLEA Chief presented the officers with official Letters of Commendation, personally signed by him, alongside other support packages to aid their recovery.
Marwa also praised the NDLEA medical team and personnel at the National Hospital for their swift intervention and proper care, which he said helped stabilise the injured officers.
He reassured the public that the NDLEA remains determined to dismantle drug cartels and rid communities of illicit substances across the country, despite violent resistance from criminal elements.
