The Katsina State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says from November 2021 to June 2023, it seized over 2.7 tonnes of illicit drugs worth billions of Naira, arrested 1,596 suspects, counselled about 1,900 addicts, and secured the conviction of more than 63 dealers in the state.

Immediate Past Commander of the agency, Muhammed-Bashir Ibrahim made these statistics public during a send-forth organised for him by the command, following his deployment to Kwara State
He said he is leaving the command a fulfilled man, having reduced drug demand and supply to the barest minimum.
According to Ibrahim, the command under his watch has produced the best drug reduction experts in the country due to the capacity building available to its officers and men
The Deputy Commander in charge of operations and training of the agency, Halilu Muhammed, and other speakers, described him as a goal-getter who made the Katsina Command of the NDLEA one of the best in the country.
