NDLEA Intercepts Parcels of Cocaine, Heroine Designated to UK, Ireland, Australia

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has intercepted some well-concealed and unaccompanied parcels of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and cannabis sativa to be shipped to the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Australia, Maldives, and New Zealand.

In a Statement Signed by the Director Media and Advocacy of the Agency, Femi Babafemi, a notorious trafficker, Sikiru Owolabi, who is behind some of the parcels, was traced and arrested through Undercover Narcotic Agents attached to two international courier companies in Lagos, some days after thorough and systematic surveillance.

Babafemi also noted that Sikiru Owolabi, has made useful confessions to the Agency during interrogations.

The suspect he said also produced cocaine concealed in cream containers to be shipped to Dublin in Northern Ireland by the courier firms, while another 200grammes of cocaine meant for London, were found with the same courier company.

In another undercover operation, 320grammes of heroin concealed in earrings from Congo with Australia as destination, was seized at another courier firm in Lagos, just as another 390 grammes of cocaine hidden in men’s clothing and tagged for Northern Ireland, was intercepted in the same company.

Additionally, 500grammes of cannabis sativa concealed in automobile parts marked for New Zealand was also seized at one of the courier companies, 200 grammes of methamphetamine hidden inside an award plaque to New Zealand, with another 200 grammes of methamphetamine concealed in a book with Maldives as destination, were equally intercepted in another firm.
