Two suspected trans-border traffickers, Emeka Okoro, and Ibrahim Bello have been arrested in Abuja by Men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, in possession of cocaine weighing 1.1kilogramme, with a street value of N264million in two separate Operations.
According to a statement signed by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Femi Babafemi, one of the suspect,Okoro, was intercepted with 900gm of cocaine in a commercial bus along Abuja-Gwagwalada road on Monday 26th April, 2021, while Bello was nabbed with 200 grammes of the illicit drugs in Zuba area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, same day through a controlled delivery operation.
The statement revealed that Okoro was an intending traveller to Libya through Kano and Agadez in Niger Republic, with wraps of cocaine weighing 900 grammes.

According to the suspect, Emeka Okoro, the wraps of cocaine were not to be swallowed as has always been the case, but to be concealed in Jerry cans of palm oil and transported through the border in Kano to Agadez and Libya. Emeka also revealed that the concealing method has been the trend in the past months.
On the other hand, the skunk was sourced from Ikire in Osun state and heading to Masaka in Nasarawa state before the Anti Narcotics operatives arrested the suspect, Ibrahim Bello, seized the illicit drugs and the vehicle conveying the substance.
Chairman Executive of the Anti Drug agency, Brigadier. General Mohamed Buba Marwa retired, commended officers and men of the FCT and Kogi state Commands of the Agency on their vigilance and commitment to the task of ridding the country of illicit drugs.
