The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has secured 84 convictions and arrested 386 suspected drug traffickers in Kogi State in the last one year.
The agency said this during activities marking the 2026 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Kogi State
Kogi State NDLEA Commander, Mustapha Yahuza explained that between June 2025 and June 2026, the Command arrested 386 suspects, secured 84 convictions, while 123 cases remain pending before the Federal High Court in Lokoja.
Stakeholders at the event expressed concern over the rising social and security consequences of drug abuse and pledged stronger collaboration with the NDLEA to curb the menace across Kogi State.
The Kogi State Command of the NDLEA said it has strengthened both drug supply and demand reduction strategies, a development that earned the Command its recent elevation to a Strategic Command.
