NECO Release 2025 SSCE External Result, Records Increased Malpractices, 86.26% Credit In Maths, English

The National Examinations Council (NECO), has released the 2025 External results, 52 days after the last paper was written.

The records show that the examination witnessed a rise in malpractice cases of 9,016 as against 6,160 in 2024.

Also, 82,082 candidates, representing 86.26% got five Credits and above in English Language and
Mathematics, out of the 95,160 candidates that sat for the examinations.

Officially releasing the results at the headquarters of the Council in Minna, Niger State, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi said, a total of 96,976 candidates with 51,823 representing 53.43% males and 45,156 represents 46.56 % females.

On examination malpractice, the NECO boss said there was an increase of about 3% recorded in 2025 to that of 2024, with 5 Supervisors blacklisted, and 4 examination centres across Niger, Yobe, and Kano States recommended for derecognition due to mass malpractice.

Wushishi also added that CBT examinations were conducted in London with full supervision and monitoring done from the headquarters in Minna describing it as a milestone achievement.

While speaking about the debt owed to the examination body by different State governments, the NECO boss disclosed that less than two billion naira is currently owed and is hoping for the best going forward.
