The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, (NERC) is holding a Customer Complaints Resolution Meeting in Yola.
It is to bridge the gap between the nation’s Electricity Distribution Company and its customers
This is coming after a series of misunderstandings, always encountered between the two divides of the stakeholders, in the process of operations.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulations Commission, (NREC) is an independent regulatory body, with authority for the regulation of the electric power industry in Nigeria.
Since its establishment in 2005, the commission has been very proactive in the formation and review of electricity tariffs, transparent policies regarding subsidies, as well as in the promotion of efficient policies.
This meeting which brought together the respective customers of the power company is an attempt to lay to rest, the misunderstandings that often arise from the operations of the Electricity Distribution Company, so that customers are well informed.

Overbilling, poor metering, unlawful disconnections and poor services among others, formed parts of the complaints on the lips of electricity consumers, as outlined here.
All these complaints will be duly tackled, according to the Chairman of the Commission, Engineer Sanusi Garba, represented by the Head of Consumer Affairs, Dr Shittu Shuaibu.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Yola Electricity Distribution Company, (YEDC), said all complaints would be addressed accordingly.
