The pioneer General Officer Commanding the newly established 10 Division of the Nigerian Army in Taraba State, Major General Chinedu Nnebeife has arrived Jalingo in preparation for the take-off of operations by the Division.
The GOC was received by the State Governor, Agbu Kefas who assured that all necessary support for the smooth take-off of the new Army Division have been put in place by the State Government.
The Secretary to the Government of Taraba State(SGS), Gebon Kataps on behalf of Governor Agbu Kefas, expressed delight with the establishment of the Army Division by Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, and its immediate take-off which is a major boost to security and peace in the State.
The SGS also led a tour to the temporary Barracks accommodation for the new Army Division, pending the completion of work at the permanent barracks site.
Major General Nnebeife commended the level of preparations by the Taraba State Government to support the immediate start of operations by the 10 Division, and also disclosed that the Army formation will begin operating in few days.
The establishment of the 10 Division has been applauded by residents who are optimistic that it will end pockets of security challenges in parts of the State.
The newly established 10 Division of the Nigerian Army will be based in the suburbs of Jalingo, and the formation will cover Taraba and Adamawa States.
