The new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, Commandant Tukur Ibrahim has ordered a twenty-four-hour surveillance within and around the Ilorin metropolis, to combat rising cases of cultism, kidnappings and other related crimes.
Ibrahim gave the directive during a press briefing at the Command headquarters in Ilorin the State capital.

Kwara State in Nigeria’s north central geopolitical zone has been facing series of kidnappings cultism among other anti social vices in recent times, a development that has continued to raise concerns among residents .
While seeking partnership with the state government to guarantee safety of residents, the new NSCDC Commandant
said inadequate logistics remained the only threat to the planned twenty four hours surveillance.
The new Commandant took over from , Iskil Makinde as commandant of the NSCDC in Kwara State.
