New commissioner of Police take charge in Nasarawa state

Shettima Jauro Mohammed, has assumed office as the 29th Commissioner of Police of the Nasarawa State Command

The new Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Shettima Mohammed has assumed office as the 29th police boss in the State Command.

In a statement, the state police public relations officer, Ranham Nansel, confirmed Mohammed’s arrival in Lafia.

The statement added that the new police commissioner solicited the collaboration of the general public by providing actionable information to the police to decisively deal with crime in the state.

The new police commissioner took over from Shehu Nadada who was recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

Mohammed who hails from Mubi North LGA of Adamawa State holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education from University of Maiduguri.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has served the Nigeria Police Force in various capacities such as Acting Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia Nassarawa State Command; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Zone 8 Lokoja and Gombe State Command.
