A more robust synergy among the various security agencies in Nigeria has been advocated as credible platform needed to strengthen security in the Niger Delta region of the country.
Participants at a one-day summit over the weekend in akure, the ondo state capital reaffirmed previous position reached in similar gatherings in the past which seeks to find ways of strengthening security in the region.

The gathering called on community and religious leaders to be proactive with a call for them to be vigilant and advise subordinates on the need to ensure security and development in the Niger delta .
The summit, also agreed that there is an urgent need to build a strong stakeholders engagement platform, as part of ongoing efforts to sustain development in the Niger Delta
