Niger State’s Ministry of Education has been directed to convene a meeting of relevant stakeholders to come out with a policy on the resumption of educational institutions.
Governor Abubakar Bello gave the directive in a statewide broadcast to announce the relaxing of lockdown in the state.
The Governor announced the opening of markets, departmental stores, and other business outfits.
He also said that the curfew will now be from 10 pm to 4 am.
The state chief executive reminded traders and proprietors of other businesses that they must ensure strict compliance with the regulations put in place by health authorities, to curtail COVID-19 disease, including social distancing and the wearing of face masks.
He further said that the use of face masks in public places is compulsory and enjoined law enforcement agencies to arrest and prosecute defaulters.

The Governor also hinted that civil servants, apart from those on grade level 14 and above and those on essential services are to remain at home.
He added that the ban on interstate travels remains, except those conveying food items and other government approved commodities.
