Niger State Govt to reconstruct 82km Minna-Bida Road

The Niger State Government says arrangements have been concluded for the official ground breaking, for the reconstruction of the Minna-Bida Road project, scheduled for April 2.

The Minna-Bida Road, which has been in a dilapidated state over the years, is a major economic corridor, and is expected to boost the industrialization of the state and becomes the longest dual carriageway in the state.

In a statement by the Chairman of the New Niger Development Project, Abubakar Mustapha, the reconstruction, upgrading, and dualization of Minna-Bida Road have received a boost, as the three pre-qualified and shortlisted companies have submitted their financial bids for the 82-km project.

According to the statement, the companies are Triacta Nigeria Limited, CGC Nigeria Limited, and Arab Contractors, and all the due processes have been completed.

The statement adds that the project, is among the key development objectives of Governor Umar Bago’s administration, and a key success factor for the state’s Agricultural Revolution drive, as it will facilitate the prompt evacuation and movement of agricultural products in Niger State.
