The Nigeria Export Promotion Council wants protection for cashew farmers in Nigeria to fully accelerate government’s economic diversification efforts.
The council’s director of product development
Obidike Evelyn, said this during an interactive meeting in Abuja with some private sector operators on ways to strengthen the Cashew project.
She advised the private sector to deepen collaborations to achieve a more business friendly environment for cashew farmers and processors.
Some of the speakers noted that the Prosper Cashew project would link operators in the sector to information, capital, innovation and relevant markets.
Other speakers called for a holistic approach to reposition the cashew industry in Nigeria through robust collaborations with other relevant bodies.
