More Nigerians have continued to call for the immediate intervention of the federal government through its relevant agencies by providing relief materials and other palliatives to victims of flood disasters in some states of the country.
The Coordinator of the National All Progessives Congress Supporters’ Centre, Ibrahim Batati, told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that only decisive and swift measures by government and other interest groups can bring succour to the people of the states currently ravaged by floods.
The states include Jigawa, Kogi, Benue, Adamawa, Kebbi, Taraba, Kano, Bauchi, Anambra, Niger and Ebonyi.

Batati noted that it is imperative that government also quickly evacuates and temporarily resettles all those who live in the most vulnerable areas to avert further loss of lives.
He also advised people in flood prone areas to take very seriously the alert from the meteorological agency that 24 states in the country would still witness huge rainfall that might worsen the situation.
