The envoy highlighted Germany’s main exports to Nigeria ranging from machines, food and chemical products while Nigeria’s main exports to Germany include crude oil accounting for 83%, food products 12% and other raw materials 4%.
Günther also pointed out that no fewer than 90 German companies are currently operating in Nigeria with over 17,000 jobs directly created and a minimum 10-fold indirectly.

She noted that all the European Union countries put together generated around 160,000 jobs in Nigeria, and Germany has invested over €600 million in development projects across all sectors of Nigeria’s economy, adding that this does not include the €620 million pledged to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
