The Nigerian Federal government has launched its Anti-Corruption radio in Abuja, the nation’s capital city, which is also the first of its kind in the African continent.
Known as ‘EFCC Radio 97.3 fm’, it is established to provide day to day information, enlightenment, entertainment and campaigns against corruption in the country.
At the Inauguration of the Station, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede said it is a means of serving the public better and deepening the war against corruption in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, for good governance.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to explore all mechanisms to get the nation rid of corruption.
The Minister of Information who fielded questions in a live interactive session on the Station, acknowledged the efforts of the current Chairman of the EFCC and its Management towards the modernisation of activities, to serve the public better.
Also, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, Senator Emmanuel Odende, expressed optimism that the Radio would help the Commission to sensitise the citizenry on the negative effects of corruption to national development.
The EFCC boss gave assurances that the Anti-graft body would uphold the ethics of media practices and its station would assist to prevent and fight corruption at all levels.
