There are 829 new Covid-19 cases in Nigeria reported on Boxing day. This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 83,576 since the first infection was reported on February 27.
The 829 new cases were reported in 15 states including Lagos-296; FCT-291; Kaduna-79, Rivers-40; Kano-35 and Nasarawa-25.
Other states with the new Covid-19 cases are Bauchi-19; Benue-8; Borno, Edo, Oyo and Sokoto-7 each; Cross River-3, Jigawa-3 and Ogun-2.
The total number of successfully treated Covid-19 cases in Nigeria is now 70,495 following the discharge of 256 patients in the last 24 hours.

There is report of one more person dying of Covid-19 related complications in Nigeria in the last 24 hours with the national death toll put at 1,247.
