10 persons die of Covid-19 as NCDC fails to account for 72 new cases

In the last 24 hours, 10 people have died of Covid-19 related complications in Nigeria bringing the national death toll to 1,246.

Nigeria has however recorded 965 recoveries from Covid-19 including 248 in Lagos and 136 in Kaduna that were managed under community-based protocols. The total number of successfully treated cases in the country has risen to 70,239.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has reported 712 new Covid-19 infections in 20 states in the last 24 hours. The Centre claims that the total number of confirmed cases in the country is now 82,747 from 81,963. This however does not account for 72 new infections.

Lagos has recorded 388 new cases in last 24 hours; FCT-77; Kwara-39; Katsina-35; Bauchi-33; Plateau-22; Ogun-18; Akwa Ibom-16 and Delta-13.

Others are Kaduna and Osun-12 each; Yobe-11; Sokoto-10; Kebbi-8; Enugu-6; Edo-5; Ondo-3; Niger-2; Kano and Oyo-1 each.
